onomatopoeia

We have been looking at ways to add impact to our narratives. We found that onomatopoeia enhances our stories. Here is my onomatopoeia. It is not fully finished yet but I hope you still like it.

Underwater Olympics writing

On your mark, get set, GO!. I swam over the hurdles as fast as I could. I was as fast as a cheatah. Yay! I was in the lead. After all i was the olympic star. Ow my muscles started hurting!. Then a giant fish was coming. I quickly dodged It.Phew!. But I came last. It was still fun though.

Narrative writing

Anna woke up at 3:00 in the morning. She could not get back to sleep. She got dressed and went to her new mirror she brought from the market. She had really long hair so she tied it into a bun. Until … the magic mirror sucked her in!. Anna had woken up in a bed. She got up. Anna then spotted a letter on the table. The letter said, Hello Anna, I see you are reading this letter. I put you in this challenge because you should be able to solve the story?. Well, Goodluck the magic mirror said. “Oh no!” Anna said. So Anna went outside. She went into the forest and got lost. Until she saw a little two story cottage. She went inside. Anna smelt something very good. It was porridge. There were three chairs. Anna sat on chair three. It was too small. Then chair one was way too big. Anna finally went to the medium chair. It was perfect. She ate the porridge. Then she decided to sleep. She slept in the middle bed. Then suddenly three bears came in and the little bear said “waa mummy a girl is sleeping in your bed”. Anna quickly woke up and screamed. She ran out as quickly as she could. She finally woke up she was still in her pjs. It was a dream phew!.

How To Play Bumper Cars Tag

 We have been playing a game called Bumper cars tag for Fitness. it is very fun here is how to play.

Bumper Cars Tag
need: A nice not too small place to have fun in. a soft object for the tagger to hold. 13+ players
Game  Have one or two taggers that hold the object you have and one or two runners Get everyone in pairs If not even numbers be in a group of three Stand next to each other and spread out around the space. Start playing but no cheating
Instructions                The taggers must stand in the main part by                       the leader               Yell out go!. Taggers must  start chasing the runners If you are being chased you run around to avoid being tagged. Run up beside a pair and say “bump”. The person on the other end of the pair becomes the runner.  If you get tagged you need to hold the object then the tagger needs to get the runners.
Rules: don't cheat. Don't run for a long time. Use soft objects for the tagger. If you are the tagger don’t hit hard.  Buddy up with people who had not had a go or had not had a go in a while.

How to make a HOT CHOCOLATE

 

How to make a hot chocolate
Materials                      Ingredients  Teaspoon                          hot chocolate mix  Mug                                   Milk Spoon                               Marshmallows  Mitten or paper towel Microwave
Steps 0. Wash your hands. 1. Put the Milk in the mug . 2. Put the mug in the microwave for 1 minute.  3. Take the mug out of the microwave. 4. Put ½ teaspoons of milo in the mug. 5. stir it up with the teaspoon.   6. Add some marshmallows(optional). 7. Enjoy!:D

My describe and alien spaceship story.

 As I am walking by, people were running in groups of 34. I didn’t know why. So I decided to follow them. Suddenly I hear a BOOM! I quickly run with the people. But it is too late. I have just woken up. I look around the room I woke up in. The walls are very tall, green and grey. There are two big grey tables, a small bed (I woke up on) and a bookshelf. It seems like I'm in a mini jail cell but I’m not that worried.  Out the window It is pitch black. I can see the moon and bright stars. The moon was sleeping but the stars were awake, they were winking at me.As I am walking by, people were running in groups of 34. I didn’t know why. So I decided to follow them. Suddenly I hear a BOOM! I quickly run with the people. But it is too late. I have just woken up. I look around the room I woke up in. The walls are very tall, green and grey. All of a sudden I start to hear loud aliens roaring like hungry lions. It suddenly stops.

Eww it stinks like alien socks. I open the window and smell the fresh air. 

 Yumm~ I can smell somethin yummy. It smells like butter chicken pie yum!. “Hello!” some weird alien said. “Hi? Where am I?” I just reply. But then I thought for a second. I am in an alien spaceship!. I scream “I want to go home!”. The weird alien replies “You shall not go home,  I made this butter chicken pie”. “Yum but no thanks' '. “I just wanna go home” I cry. I sigh. 

I have an idea, it had just popped up in my head. The idea is when the boss alien comes in I'll quickly run out of this yucky room, but- one problem there will be guards. I hear that there are only two aliens. Alien 1  is yellow and short and Alien 2 is blue and tall. I must sneak past them. The boss alien comes in. I am now running very quick. I stop for a second to get my breath back. I see that I'm out of the spaceship yay!. I am home in bed. But why? I was dreaming.

 

The Viking Village

 As I walk on the old fragile and wobbly roads I start to feel anxious.

There were a-lot of wooden houses and the sun was just rising.

I could hear the fire sparks as I walked past they were trying to follow me.  (the fire sparks looked like little blaze rods). 

The giant lake was beautiful.   

The air smelt fresh as ice. 

Bang! CrAsH! The large Barrels full of carrots were everywhere!.

Seagulls were skuriking. 

There were alot of people walking along the roads and selling stuff like food, swords, blankets, water, pillows, air mattresses, shields and bows, arrows. 

Shields were being built. Swords were being sharpened 

I think its a warriors village…

Life education -teamwork

 We have been in the Life Education van learning about teamwork. 

I like the part when we had to tell what we saw on the optical illusion cards. we played team work games, flinch, tattling or telling, puzzle, and knots hand game.

Duffy Theater writing

 

Bubble trouble

Duffy, Scruffy and Auntie were on a farm because of the sickness around.

Duffy was trying to milk Moomoo Molly, she's very sad. Duffy accidentally hurt Moomoo Molly. Then Moomoo Molly squirts milk at Duffy. Then Scruffy threw him in the chicken coop. The chickens chased Duffy. Scruffy kept washing her hands lots because she's worried about covid.

Duffy had to work online. Then he goes on zoom. His teacher is muted. Duffys teacher does not know how to use technology very well. His classmate Jason is being silly with his zoom. Duffy fakes his wife is bad, to avoid the work. Now Duffy doesn't feel like reading. He is slowly changing. The teacher is setting book reports while Scruffy is playing around on snapchat. Then Duffy got mad and they started fighting over the tablet. Then Duffy throws the tablets outside because he was very mad. Then Chloe the pig stumps on the tablets.

 Aunty called mum. Duffy admits throwing the tablets out a window and that he’s stressed. Then Aunty asks should I throw the cows out the window?. Mum said do some chores for Aunty to earn new tablets. Then Duffy and Scruffy were being chased by sheep. They weren't good at catching the sheep. Then scruffy washed her hands. She still did not like germs. Duffy really likes being offline but he misses his friends, Duffy feels sad.

 A package arrived. Scruffy got to the package first and opened it.

 But then sanitized it for Duffy. Duffy comes in. “what was in the package” he asked.

scruffy showed him the book. Oh no Scruffy he said. He got sad when Duffy saw the book ruined. Duffy went for a little walk. Then Duffy fell into a big wide black hole. He finds bones. He fines Bess the chicken. Then night comes. Duffy and Bess fell asleep. When it is morning Bess pecks Duffy to wake him up. Scruffy starts to look for Duffy. Then Scruffy finds Duffy. 

Then Scruffy went to get Aunty. Bess lays an egg. Aunty and Scruffy got Duffy and Bess out. Bones were moa bones and Duffy got on the paper. Then the lockdown was over. Duffy is now happy to be back at school. The teacher tells how to use the library, Duffy finds a book about moas and starts writing about the moa. Bess got lost again.

I liked the Duffy show.  I think it was too long though.  

My tree story

One normal sunny bright nice lovely day me and my family were going on a walk into the Forest. So I said to my parents I’ll walk by myself. When I was walking I saw this weird shaped tree. Then it said “hello I am the Talking man tree”. I said “Hi I’m Liz Tan”. Then the Man tree said “I’m glad you're here because I got stuck here as a tree years ago”. “Really?!” I said. “shhhhh be quiet” he said quietly. “Okay”. Then I went back to my parents. They asked “how was the walk?”. “It was okay,” I said.
